I really appreciate your help here.

On the astlinux build,

curl-config --libs

only gives

-lcurl

On the centos box, it gives

-L/usr/kerberos/lib -lcurl -lgssapi_krb5 -lkrb5 -lk5crypto -lcom_err 
-lresolv -ldl -lidn -lssl -lcrypto -lz
