We'd be up for suggestions on how to implement that. I know it's something I'd like to see us do too. Sometimes new variables don't get picked up unless you go back and do a diff to /stat/etc/rc.conf > Of course my main reason for updating in the firstplace was to add arnos > firewall(astfw just plain would not translate ports.... example: port 8800 > on the outside to port 80 on the inside - broken, port 8800 on outside to > port 8800 on inside works everytime.. this is to a machine other than the > astlinux machine) but im guessing since this is still a work in progress > there is no real real upgrade procedure in stone...which is fine I don mind > hackin a little when needbe... There have been some very fundamental differences between 0.2X, 0.4X and newer images after 0.4X. Very early images were build against glibc. The newer stuff is all based on uclibc (using buildroot as the build environment). I really like the flexibility of Arno's fw which is why I moved to get it included. Philip has improved the way it's implemented. Documentation is always something that lags behind a bit. The www.astlinux.org website has helped some. That content does need to be cleaned up a bit with some of the very recent changes. It's mostly correct though, but still lacking.
