Darren,

If/when we replace uclibc with eglibc we would be able to support the 
binary blobs that Digium is selling. (g729, fax, eventually skype)  It 
will be at least several months before we would have the time to get 
this implemented and tested.  It's a major overhaul.  I'm trying to find 
some information which would provide some size comparisons between the two.

Bottom line, if you need something reliable right now, I'd set up a 
Hylafax server.
