Thanks for the reply Darrick. Because so many people use Skype it does offer a valuable way to encourage more people to call as they can make a free call using something they already use, so is a compelling need for me. Sadly I'm not a software developer so wouldn't know where to begin with the changes necessary for glibc so I guess I'll have to resort to using a regular asterisk installation on a minimal install of CentOS or something. It does seem that in choosing uClibc the primary goal for Astlinux is size, and that does cause some limitations for asterisk such as the dahdi scripts not working and not being able to use the binary modules. It is a shame because I like the idea of not having all the unnecessary (non-asterisk) stuff that you get with a generic distro. Wish you all the best for the future of the project.
