John,

There should be no problem using a system with only 128M of ram.  If 
less than 256MB of ram is detected, the root file system is left mounted 
loopback rather than copied to ram.  You can always force this behavior 
by appending "noram" to the kcmd line in astlinux-foo.run.conf
