Yup, it's not looking good at all. In the pure SIP domain I can route 50 calls concurrently (haven't tried any more than that) and it was solid for over 2 hours after which I stopped the test.
In the T1 domain using a Digium TE110P I can't get any more than 10 calls from it. After that the T1 takes a dump with all sorts of HDLC errors. Now, I'm still not convinced that my tests are good. I'm using the SIPp tool (as before) and in the pure SIP domain this tool rocks but throw in a T1 and it's calls never complete. They get to the 5501 which in turn passes then down the T1 and then in turn they are answered by the P4 machine but never do any of SIPp's invites get answered. I'm wondering if the subsequent storm of invite re-transmissions is flooding the 5501 network interface. Indeed, when I do anything to the 5501 via an ssh session whilst the tests are going on the T1 takes a dump. Finally, the 5501 has been online (with various reboots/config changes etc since 0830 yesterday (around 36 hours or so) and I've noted the CPU temperature rise to the point where one cannot touch it. Just this evening I started getting "PCI target abort) errors spewing out of the console port. I turned the machine off and let it cool down and as if by magic the PCI errors went away. Please don't tell me I have to add a fan to this board?! If anyone has a Sangoma A101 card that they would be willing to lend me I'd be most grateful. It would be good to compare the 2 cards. There must be a reason why the Sangoma card is $500 more than the Digium card.
