Without knowing how you use Asterisk in your AstLinux image it is hard to 
advise which version is the best.

That being said, personally I'm happily using Asterisk 1.8 at the moment. :-)

Out of curiosity, if you can share which line of your products use AstLinux, it 
would be useful to the project.  Only email privately to me if you wish.
