Folks -

   I have a TP-Link "N900" card that reports "1682:3112" with a subsystem
"1682:3112". I want to run it as an AP in a 1U
server with two e1000 cards, mdev, and very little else - right now. It
refuses to send packets.

I have altered the backports drivers to turn off ANI. I have spread the
three antennas 15" apart (each) on a board that
will hold them still. The server is in the basement, and the antennas are
literally right under my chair. I have put my
phones six inches away from the antenna, but see no sign of the phone hearing
the T-4800.

I have kismet running up stairs. I see tear down packets when I kill
HostAPD. I see scan packets when I trigger the scans
with "iw". In -dd mode, I can see my phones sending, and it replying, but
those packets down't show in kismet. There are no
beacons, though I have yet to find a trace of them in
/sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/*.

The kernel logs end the cfg80211 entries with: "cfg80211: Pending regulatory
request, waiting for it to be processed..."

Is the above line a red herring? Is there something I am missing here?
(um... obviously)

B.
