First, if the Tombstone extension is not a must for every atom
implementation, it should not use the atom namespace.  Second, 
although I agree that validation is not all mighty,  I do believe 
that it solves some problems.  (I will report one interesting 
example soon.)  There is no point in making validation difficult 
when there are no gains.
