I’d rather the normative URIs for the media resources be given by way of an alternate link in entries associated with each of the resources. You’ll want such entries anyway in order to store any associated textual data (eg. the description of an image) and preserve other metadata such as who uploaded a file. Within the zip, the file would be identified by using the atom:content/@src attribute. The zip structure could be completely free-form with the exception of the name and placement of the master feed.
