The directory name does not matter. It is just a layer for presenting
the rpms to the public. Lirc 0.8.3 comes from CVS, that is the difference.

All stable updates are mixed up, and come from

dl.atrpms.net. For instance, for FC6 x86_64,

http://dl.atrpms.net/fc6-x86_64/atrpms/stable/

Just download the version of lirc you want and do:

sudo rpm -Uvh lirc-0.8.x...rpm

or, if you prefer,

yum localupdate lirc-0.8.x...rpm
