No real answers for you on your 0.24 issues, but a couple of questions: 1) Did you do the "Scan Audio Devices" (not sure if I have the wording correct) step after you upgraded? Although my front-ends seems to work fine after I upgraded even without doing the scan, I believe I saw something in the release notes that said it was required. 2) Have you considered posting this to the MythTV list? I, for one, would be interested in the feedback you get there. I agree with your assessment on Pulseaudio, although I think there are some (new?) options related to pulse in the sound settings. I get frustrated when I see it suggested that people remove pulseaudio from their systems when they post about audio issues, especially since it seems to be the way most distros are moving. IMO getting rid of something that is installed by default does not seem to be very "user friendly". I'm also curious about the nupel video codec. I use 'nuvexport' extensively and unfortunately it is a very much hit-and-miss program from release to release, especially in regards to which options are available.
