I'm running 8.10 + 177.80 (I think). I mostly do SD stuff and it's ok. I have some 1080p h264 material I downconverted to 720p xvid and that plays ok.
If you have a pointer to a test clip, I can try it out. All the config I did was what is documented in the wiki. Man, I wish Apple had stuck a slightly faster processor in there along with 512MB of ram.
