Several weeks ago I built a MythTV system with a Mac Mini (early 2009) running Ubuntu 9.04. I was able to configure LIRC for the built-in IR receiver and a Tivo Glo remote. All of the buttons on the remote worked in LIRC and MythTV.
Now I'm trying to use my Mini's configuration as the basis for a MythTV front-end on an Apple TV. Everything is working except the configuration I created for the Tivo Glo remote. Most of the buttons work exactly the same as the Mini, but irrecord receives a string of zeros instead of a unique code for approximately 10 of the buttons. The buttons that don't work don't appear to have anything in common: Live TV, Thumb down, Right, 1, 9, 0, Clear, Forward, Reverse, etc. I've read about some of the limitations of Apple IR receivers, but I didn't pay too much attention, because my remote worked fine on the Mini. I also thought all Apple IR receivers were generally the same. Are these missing buttons a unique limitation / feature of the Apple TV, or have I messed up the configuration in some way? Thanks!
