Hi all,

I have a question about RefTeX, which I feel must have a simple answer but I
must
have overlooked it.

Suppose I'm editing a LaTeX file and I want to add a new citation that is not
yet in
my .bib file. I switch to the BibTeX file, add the new entry, save the file. I
switch back to my document, hit C-c c (`reftex-citation'), select the citation
format
and type in the citation key for RefTeX to find, only to get a "Sorry, no
matches
found" message.

I first assumed what happens is that RefTeX does not parse the .bib file on
every
call to `reftex-citation', but its docstring says "After prompting for a regular
expression, scans the buffers with bibtex entries (taken from the \bibliography
command)". For some reason, this does not seem to happen. The new entry is
found
after a while, so eventually the bibtex buffers are scanned.

So my question is: how can I make sure that the bibtex files are scanned each
time I
call C-c c? Is there maybe a key that I can press after the unsuccessful
search for
rescanning the bibtex files and trying again to find the citation key?

Thanks,
Greg
