I wouldn't start panicking, just be patient or try again another time. I have this with online friends as well, and I get worried that if I send too many messages I'll end up bombarding them or something, so if I don't hear back I literally just wait, give it a couple of weeks a message again, or even sometimes a month depending on some factors.
