Re: the killer, from 1 good, drama free fps, to a down right redspot clone

At 21 and 22, I never said shit doesn't happen anywhere else. I am fully aware of what a cespool the internet can be. But whatever attacks on game devs and individuals that exist on mainstream forums, it doesn't degrade to people insulting, for example, Yoshinori Ono when Street Fighter V didn't have an arcade mode. Sure they threw his name under a monstertruck, but because of how big the community is, noone who knew Ono personally entered the conversation on either side, and most of said shit in the mainstream gaming community happens on a non-personal basis. Someone just said it simply. Business relationships and personal relationships should not be one and the same. Unfortunately, this community is so small that such results occur, when developers are favourable to friends, or at least where such accusations can be legitimately made. In mainstream multiplayer games, particularly on console, there's no admin to blame crap on... you can blame a company for bad netcode and that's about it. But developers don't come into play saying a game borrowed from another, or accuse others of stealing their ideas. they're smart enough to keep those discussions off the public map.

All that to be said, I'm in no walled off communities... and that's frankly a litle offensive to assume, simply because I mention that this has more personal drama than some other places on the internet. Someone said that four threads about drama on a multiplayer game isn't a lot... but uh, yes, it is, especially when it degenerates into accusing admins, those admins coming on to defend themselves which leads to more heat, and the developer coming into defend whoever they feel like, and then all of this spilling over to people getting banned, or using cheats to get revenge on other players IC, and all that coming round full circle right back onto the forum. smile
