LOL, I didn't even know that N shortcut... Is that in the documentation?
Also, I would argue that all the different types of review and layout that NVDA uses are also a problem.
Much of the reason why they had to do that was do to patents made by Freedom Scientific, which they didn't want to infringe on, though I do wonder how other screen readers have gotten away with it...
Either way, all these modes are still the biggest hurtle for new users to get over by far, and you don't even use half of them most of the time.
Still, that pails in comparison to JAWS and it's (sometimes necessary) level of bloat.
