@Defender, you can usually customise the installation quite well to insure that it doesn't install most crap you don't want, and under tools you can get the various options to work fine with NVDA, though honestly other than customising browser cleaning to keep the cookies I want, I haven't found custom to be something I need to mess with too much, most of the really serious stuff is found under tools with lots of handy checkboxes as you said, and really it's patent common sense to just not mess around with something called "drive wiper", unless you mean it .
The only issue I have is since they've started including a giant pannel, which started with easy clean, and is now called health check, it's much harder to get this to run with nvda other than by tabbing and hitting enter. This unfortunately is also now where license activation occurs, which meant I had a much hahrder time activating C cleaner on my laptop than when I bought my desktop three years ago. The pannel can be read automatically with NVDA or by hitting NVDA B, however screen review didn't work, meaning clicking on stuff in the pannel or running health check is slightly trial and error, though since the only other option in health check is a "cancel" button it's not too bad.
I've also asked about this on the NVDA github page, but haven't had an answer unfortunately, indeed this is one of the few instances where I am missing supernova's dolphin curser function, since it was much easier in Supernova to go wandering around the screen and clicking on random stuff that didn't play nice by default.
