Superfish happened a long time ago and a couple other major manufacturers had similar issues in the past as well.
Just get a decent antivirus suite, good ad blocker and a solid password manager to supplement Windows Defender and avoid shady websites if your worried, make frequent backups, and don't bother stressing over government surveillance too much because there is literally nothing you can do to avoid it unless you've lived in a cave in a third world country for your whole life with no internet or phone access, since we already lost the privacy fight decades ago for all intents and purposes.
