For me, a good soundstage is when I close my eyes and I can't say where
the speakers are, but it is easy to tell where the musicians are placed.
As an example, there are musicians further left than where my left
speaker stands.

A lousy soundstage is when it seems that all the musicians are in small
huddle in the middle of the room.

I am not sure if this is more important for some types of music than
ohers. it's more like: You have to have experienced it to miss it
afterwards.
