I think over simplification is creeping in here, it certainly does matter a whole hoot what the CD palyer is. When playing cds on it. A 24 bit cd played will pick out layers that a 16 bit player merely glosses over. Play a complictaed piece on a 24 bit cd player and the same on a 16 bit player and there is a great deal of difference otherwise why go to the lengths of producing such an animal in the first place???
