I read a few tips on the Infrant site specifically for improving the speed of SS on the X6, maybe they will help in your situation.
I could not find the link, but it dealt with turning of "statistics" in SS. This option is ONLY in the Infrant version of SS. I have not yet used it, so I cannot tell you exactly where to find it. Perhaps if you post on the Infrant site someone can provide more info.
