Skunk, i think you may (or i) must be misunderstanding the meaning of that checkbox.

You seems to be describing it as:

"This deluxxe drive caches data, please use the data from the cache in order to get faster rips."

While I've always understood it to mean:

"This darn drive caches data, check here if you'd like me to try harder to defeat the cache and get you an accurate rip."

I think maybe somebody is going to have to go to hydrogenaudio after all.
