My understanding of clocking systems and jitter is that jitter is
typically measured as an RMS value and is cumulative.  THerefore you
want to start out with the lowest jitter source as possible as it only
gets worse from there - ie jitter just increases as you add more
elements in the chain.

The best way to start out is with a highly accurate and as jitter free
master clock as possible and then clock all devices off this master;
SB2/3, DACs etc.  In this way the total system jitter is minimized.

good thing as it can be a slave to the master clock source along with
your other digital components downstream.
