Hello fellow audiophiles, I'm now a proud owner of an SB3, even got a Cascade linear supply on order. I plan to tweak it further adding low ESR caps etc. but I'm not in a rush now. I'm done ripping my music collection to harddrives, too.
What I want to say is that the SB3 is truly an amazing piece of hardware! Cheap as a budget CD player but it does play in a completely different league. Let's see what the linear supply will do for me. Setting it up was less than a breeze. I couldn't believe how simple it is. Within less than 3 minutes, I was "ready to rumble". I use digital outs only into my battery-powered PCM1704 DAC. Comparing the stock SB3 to a heavily modded Accuphase transport and Cambridge Audio player, I cannot tell major differences. Good job, Slimdevices. Has anyone actually replaced their high-end transport with the SB3?
