Unfortunately, not everyone has such an understanding and interested
(even if simulated interest) wife..

However, after decades of suffering from audiophilia I have developed
defensive strategies against pseudo or placebo effects. Basically, the
sound has to be lived with for a while, not just A/B'ed. It seems the
analytical part of the mind actually interfers with the process of
assessing sound quality.
