But they sound great!

Do you plan on keeping the subwoofer(s)?

The world of BBC style monitors are great sounding,
wonderful imaging, and better WAF, mostly because they are small
and you can get nice wood.

But audiophiles are not going to be happy with the
bass response without a subwoofer.

I'm not sure that 'audiophile and active' can use used
with high WAF. For example, I have a pair of Mackie 824 active
monitor speakers and I really like their sound. But they are
plain black wood (or maybe pseuso wood) and have no grills. My wife
won't let them in her living room.

So my living room speakers are Sonus Faber Concertos
which are about the usual size for BBC monitors, but
are made of beautiful Italian walnut, with curved sides
that show off the grain of the wood. They are great looking
and the stands are at least decent looking. But I had to
get a REL subwoofer. It also is real wood and decent looking
if larger than optimal for WAF.

A good audiophile integrated amp, such as a Classe or Bryson
will cut down the number of boxes and still leave you the
flexibility to go with passive speakers.

And do you really need a tuner with a SqueezeBox?

Just replacing multiple amps and tuner with a single sleek
integrated amp greatly increases the WAF. My Classe has
the Champaigne color, not ugly black, again for the WAF.
