Thanks for the response. To clarify, the suwoofers are somewhat unique in design inn that they are a pair - and the 63's actually sit on and in them - a "plate" screws over the back to hold them in place.
So keeping them is not really an option - even though I have heard nothing that comes close when they are really singing. But the WAF us somewhat overarching in consideration. With the squeezebox I agree, a tuner is somewhat superfluous - and is earmarked to go (it's going to break my heart). I had been thinking active (B & O pentas, 1's or 8000's) to make it easier on the eye, take up less space and score some much needed brownie points. A single box replacement is interesting - ideally madam would like things done wirelessly (lesson here - don't show too much interest in new technology). Do you use a digital or analogue feed to your amp?
