Opinions are wildly divided on the if's and why's of your question. In my system, the Farnell supply changed the sound via my MF X-DACv3. My personal view is that the stock wall-wart puts out something (RF?) that can be picked up by "the system" and has a deleterious effect on the sound. For the minimal cost, it has to be worth a try.
