It is not possible to prove the negative assertion, but it is possible to prove the positive. Some possibly tenuous analogies: It's not possible to run a mile in less than 4 minutes - ooops, someone did. It's not possible to put a man on the moon - ooops, someone did. It's not possible to hear the difference between flac files decoded on the server and flac files decoded on the Squeezebox - apparently, some people did.
