Hello Blah:
Why an integrated? If you buy a good and not too expensive preamp and a
reasonably priced amp you might end up with a better system. You also
have the possibility of using a tubed pre and a solid state amp which
gives you even more options and upgrading portions of your system in
the future. I'm currently running Magnepan 1.6's which are quite
inefficient speakers power wise with a Norh ACA 2b preamp and an old
Pass Aleph3 amp. with an SB2. The Norh is a tubed unit that sells for
about $400 delivered. It's a quality product. The Pass is a class A
solid state amp running at 30 W/ch @ 8 Ohms but has lots of reserve
power. The sound is quite nice to my ears. I use Apple Lossless files
to stream to the SB over a wireless network. Far better sound quality
than a good quality cd player to me.
