So while the article is interesting, it is ancient.
Nearly 13 years is forever in digital signal processing times.
Even if you round the numbers against it, calling it 12 years
and say that Moore's law is 2 year cycles, you should expect
2^6 = 64 times "better" in 12 years.

If you can't have references within the past four or so years,
its meaningless, IMHO.

I'm not convinced that jitter is an issue this century.
