I was thinking of doing the same thing, with the SB2 straight into my Naim 250-2 power amp, but it seems it might be better to route the signal through my Benchmark DAC-1 and use that as a volume control, before going to the power amp.
Why add something to the signal chain? You might want to set the internal jumpers on the Benchmark to set the maximum gain to just above the threshold of pain, altho I have never had personal experience with the rumoured full signal problem. Adding things to a signal chain can't help it, which is why most audiophile preamps and integraded amps don't have tone controls and very few have balance controls. Unless you need the switching capabilities. And the Benchmark has a big old volume control on the front. -- Pat http://www.pfarrell.com/music/slimserver/slimsoftware.html _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
