You have to pause the music before the change occurrs. At least in my
setup which includes a server side translation of FLAC into WAV. (You
can verify that you are doing it correctly a couple of times by
monitoring tha analog outputs.) Restarting a song might work too, but
pausing is the most useful thing for comparing "before and after".

My digital output is variable, but maxed out when listening critically.
Same result as fixed, according to the CEO.
