Maybe - depends on the drive you used for ripping, the condition of the
CDs and how good iTunes is at dealing with errors. Typically people
looking for perfect rips use something like EAC.

I believe so, I've certainly seen people talk about playing HDCD from a
Squeezebox - of course you'll need an offboard decoder to hear any
difference.

Some people claim to hear a difference in the digital outputs when the
analogue outputs are muted. Others claim there's no difference. The
debate continues.

It shouldn't make any difference if there's nothing connected to them,
but you can turn the analogue attenuation up to max and that
essentially mutes them. Whether it makes any difference or not is up to
your ears. See above.

There's no need. The default will convert to FLAC for streaming, which
is a good thing as it reduces the bandwidth needed thus lowering the
possibility of dropouts. Personally, I don't see any reason whatsoever
to deal with WAV files on the server - convert them all to FLAC and be
happy.
