As I mentioned to you over IM yesterday, I'm getting pretty good
performance from older Rotel gear. Specifically, a RA-850 power amp and
an RC-870BX preamp with the SB connected through the "CD direct" input.

You can pick this sort of stuff up reasonably cheaply on eBay.

I've got a spare RA-850 you could borrow for an audition if you like?
