Out of curiosity, how exactly can a re-clocking DAC work? The clock in the DAC will never run at exactly the same speed as the clock in the source because the crystals are slightly different. That means data is coming in at a different rate than it's going out. I suppose the DAC could pause for a while before playback begins and buffer some data, and possibly that's the answer - but even if the difference in the clocks is only .1%, that means a 4 second pause or so in case the track is an hour long. Is there a noticeable delay before the Lavry starts playing?
This would also wreak havoc with DVD audio... -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27452 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
