Out of curiosity, how exactly can a re-clocking DAC work?  The clock in
the DAC will never run at exactly the same speed as the clock in the
source because the crystals are slightly different.  That means data is
coming in at a different rate than it's going out.  I suppose the DAC
could pause for a while before playback begins and buffer some data,
and possibly that's the answer - but even if the difference in the
clocks is only .1%, that means a 4 second pause or so in case the track
is an hour long.  Is there a noticeable delay before the Lavry starts
playing?

This would also wreak havoc with DVD audio...
