Have you actually heard any of Wayne's mods to tbe SB2 or SB3? I own many products that Wayne has modified (including two SB2's) and I have compared his handiwork to stock SB2's as well as other digital front ends costing as much as $10k. I still feel that the modified SB2 + external PS is the best digital front end I have owned or auditioned. As for the firmware, it is v15 and it does sound better than subsequent versions. Have you listened to different firmware versions? Lastly, while Wayne makes his living selling his cables and modifying gear, he is an honest and upfront person. He doesn't make outrageous claims and his work is technically sound. He isn't putting in vodoo chips and sprinkling fairy dust. You stated you weren't looking to get flamed...so don't make off the cuff remarks and general statements like you did.
