Well, if they could kill the breaker to that circuit, and if there's room inside the conduit ... they could try fishing the cable to the other speaker through there.
With the circuit deactivated, it wouldn't impart any hum and since they're both 220 outlets, there's a good chance the conduit is a relatively straight run from one to the other.
