Yes, in fact, there is- the preamp volume control in player
settings>audio... You don't wanna use that! Don't trust the software to
provide the -40db attenuation you need to protect your ears, equipment,
and SNR.

Right, there are no jumpers inside. You can add similar fixed
attenuation though, they are called Rothwell attenuators. Being fixed,
you must know the amount of attenuation you will need. I do wonder how
well the software preamp attenuation relates to real world rothwell
attenuators. If fairly well, then that would be a good way of telling
how much attenuation (in db) to get.

For the sake of simplicity and flexibility maybe you should consider
the Endler attenuators*. They are variable, so rather than knowing
exactly how much attenuation you need in advance, you can change it
along with your listening habits. When you're listening critically you
want the SB2 at full volume, but if your attenuators are fixed- then
what to do when you really want to crank it? With the variable
attenuator you just turn the dial a little more.

Yes, the jumpers are real world attenuatoin. They will protect you from
the glitches and preserve the SNR. The transporter still does not
guarnatee you'll be at full volume for critical listening though.
Otherwise you'd have to remove the cover and change a jumper when you
really want to crank it.

Thus, my vote for you and your amps, not even knowing your speakers,
would be for the Endler attenuators.

HtH!
