Well, I totally agree that $12,000 is a ridiculous amount to pay for that, if all you consider is the base functionality. My point was precisely that such things as $5,000 amplifiers exist, when even the vaunted ears of John Atkinson can't disitnguish between them in blind tests. So even if you believe there may be an audible difference between a $500 and a $5000 amp (and I do) it's a evidently a very subtle one, and the base functionality is identical - far more so than the SB compared to the Sooloos. And I won't even bring up $1000 wires. So I think any audiophile, or at least anyone willing to consider spending a significant amount on an amp, is on very precarious grounds criticizing it. If people can afford to pay a lot for beauty and sleek design, so what? At least they're getting something for their money, unlike many things I could name in the audiophile world... -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28499 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
