Uncompress RedBook is
= 1,411,200 bits/second
= 176,400 bytes/second
= 172 Kbytes/second
802.11b is rated at only 11 mbits/second, under 9 times what you need,
and no Ethernet ever delivers its rated speed.
I've never gotten uncompressed audio to work over 11b.
FLAC over 11g is pretty easy. YMMV, etc.
I decent reference is which says the best you can expect, under ideal
conditions is 5Mbits/s over 802.11b
http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wirelessfaqs/f/maxspeed80211b.htm
Quoting the above:
"While peak data rates may be acheivable at times, many 802.11b home
network links typically run at 2-3 Mbps. "
If you are only getting 2Mbps and trying to cram 1.4 Mbps down it, you
aren't going to be happy. There is far too much overhead to run that
close to redline.
