Ah, it had to come. A rude post from one of the rudest posters on this
forum (just to get back to the unmoderated bit). Rather than relying
on Web wisdom, I would refer you to the Gradient Web site, or to David
Wilson, the kind folks at Audio Physic, Dali, Quad, and any of a number
of other designers. Anything that you hear outside of the boundaries of
the speakers is, in fact, due to room interaction. I happen to own
Quads, Audio Physic, Wilsons, and ATCs, and I know many of the
designers, so I do know what I am talking about. This is not
necessarily a bad thing, either -- but it is best controlled. If
you're hearing sounds coming from the side walls, Robin, you are
hearing reflections. Period.

Also, it is a subjective thing. This is an effect that someone may
well like. However, on-axis stereo imaging works precisely as above.

Go away, bash, throw names, have a fit, and do whatever. I knew a
flame would be coming, I am certain Mr. Radish will have nothing to say
about it, and I guess this is the nature of this community -- as I
surmised early on.
