I use 12 AWG stranded copper low voltage cable. I get it from Home
Depot. They call it landscaping cable because the sheath is rated for
outside use. It comes in black which I wanted instead of the clear
"speaker cable". It costs CDN$1.87 per meter.

I have tested it against low end and medium range Monster cable. If
there is a difference I can't hear it.

DBT HAS found a difference between cables of too small a gauge and
large guage cables due to resistive loss & capacitance.

No DBT test has ever documented the performance claims of the high end
cables vs appropriately sized stranded copper cable.

Feel free to pay more if you want.
