You are losing a -potential- benefit.  In your setup it might make not
make a difference.

XLR shields against noise by using a third wire.  This wire carries the
signal inverted.  On the receiving end, the inverted signal is swapped
back and added to the non inverted signal canceling out any noise
introduced in transmission.

RCA can block noise through good shielding but it's a lot harder and
results vary wildly. Both types of cables can still affect the sound
through different levels of resistance, capacitance, inductance, etc.

If you're going to use an XLR->RCA interconnect be sure and open the
Lavry and swap the jumper to get the signal levels right.  Also be sure
you get the pinouts right when you buy the cables.
