Well I'm really confused now! I can get 24-bit wavs from the plugin. They will play fine in MP but NOT on the SB? Switch won't touch them - says it needs a codec but MP disagrees. I converted to flac and they play on the SB OK I've just compared a track ripped with EAC and with MP 24 bit (and possibly HDCD?). The tracks are similar in flac size - the 24-bit is a few hundred Kb bigger. When I play both flacs on the SB...the 24-bit one is really REALLY quiet...
I now have no idea what is going on. Given the difference in volume (and the fact that nothing I have apart from flac and MP will touch the 24-bit wavs so I can't peek into them) I hav no way of knowing if I am getting the benefit of HDCD decoding or not (but somehow I doubt it).
