finally finished up my SB power supply for a friend... other than one silly mishap (mixing up the pinout on the regulator IC), everything came out ok. i didn't have time to do extensive measurements or listening tests but he seems happy with it.
some construction details: Corcom line input filter, 35VA toroid, Fairchild Stealth soft-recovery rectifiers, 10,000uF Cornell Dubilier filter cap, LM350T regulator, other caps are Wima MKT, Pana FM and KEMET organic electrolytic. all critical resistors are SMT metal film. majority of components were sourced from Digikey and Allied Electronics, aluminum case was bought on eBay from a reseller in Hong Kong. captive DC power cable is Canare GS6 instrument cable, about 18" long. PCB etched at home.
