I don't believe the sound quality differences between DACs are generally audible (that view puts my into a small minority of audiophiles, but I can back it up). So if I were you, I'd give a lot of weight to the other features and functions of the DAC. Think about what you want now or might need later. For example, many DACs can function as a stereo preamp - they have multiple switchable digital inputs, remote volume controls, etc. Some can handle a wide variety of inout formats. I think the Benchmark DAC1 does pretty well in those regards. Others are much more minimalist. -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33380 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
