Please.  I don't care nearly enough about this to be considered a
fanboy, and I don't own a Transporter.  

It just seems a little odd to spend so much modifying a SB for improved
sound quality when the company that designed it in the first place has
produced a carefully engineered version with precisely that goal in
mind.  While I don't doubt that Patrick Dixon knows what he's doing,
he's competing against a team of pros that have quite a few advantages
- a research budget, a nice lab stocked with fancy equipment,
engineering degrees, and the experience of years spent designing three
generations of SBs from the ground up.  Not to mention a customer
service department.

As for aesthetics, that's a perfectly valid reason, but obviously a
matter of taste - personally I don't much like the way either of them
looks.
