It just seems a little odd to spend so much modifying a SB for improved sound quality when the company that designed it in the first place has produced a carefully engineered version with precisely that goal in mind. While I don't doubt that Patrick Dixon knows what he's doing, he's competing against a team of pros that have quite a few advantages - a research budget, a nice lab stocked with fancy equipment, engineering degrees, and the experience of years spent designing three generations of SBs from the ground up. Not to mention a customer service department. As for aesthetics, that's a perfectly valid reason, but obviously a matter of taste - personally I don't much like the way either of them looks. -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33917 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
